With the Tokyo Olympics commencing in under two weeks, most countries have already selected the athletes that will represent them in the Summer Games, which are taking place a year after they were originally scheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those countries won’t be the only communities represented at the games. Analysis by Outsports shows that the Olympics will include a record-shattering 121 athletes who are publicly out, and 30 of them will be participating on behalf of the United States.

The list of out Olympians was compiled by Outsports‘ Cyd Zeigler, Jim Buzinski, and Shelby Weldon, along with Tony Scupham-Bilton, a historian that created The Queerstory Files.

The list may not be exhaustive.
