Coca-Cola’s amazing Super Bowl ad features a lesbian couple and a non-binary person

Be first to thanks! .

A new advert from Coca-Cola features a lesbian couple and a non-binary person.

The heartwarming ad, which will air on Sunday during the Super Bowl, is one of acceptance and diversity.

Alongside the LGBT representation, it also includes a woman in a hijab, an interracial couple and – prominently – female friendship.

The voiceover, which switches between different people as the camera does too, tells viewers: “There’s a Coke for he – and she – and her – and me – and them.”

On the “and them,” the ad shows a person with a rainbow-coloured collar smiling at the camera.

Later on, the ad shows a woman in a car, while the voiceover says: “We all have different looks.”

And then – panning across to another woman in the driver’s seat – the voiceover says: “And loves.”

The Wonder of Us is scheduled to be shown to more than 100 million people during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.

And the decision to use a diverse cast was deliberate, according to Coca-Cola.

The company’s creative VP in North America, Brynn Bardacke, told AdWeek: “For this particular message, it is a strategic choice for us.

She rose to fame in the early decades of the 20th century on the chitlins circuit — the collection of stages around the country that employed black entertainers during segregation — and she would go on to a career that spanned more than 50 years. In that time, she pushed beyond racial and gender barriers, but she drew mainstream attention only starting in the 196os (she died in 1975) and little of her work has survived on film or video. That hasn’t deterred Whoopi Goldberg
