Top lesbian film firm to stage virtual concert.
Leading lesbian film company Wicked Winters Films is to stage a virtual concert to launch a new film they are crowdfunding for. The company, which specialises in lesbian and female-focused films, is crowdfunding the production of its next film One More Lie.
The concert will take place on October 20th 9 pm (BST). It will be hosted by BBC Essex presenter Helen Scott and feature performances from actress-singer Ella McCready.
Quality lesbian content
The company produces films written by the best-selling author Jade Winters. Working with producer Alex Hogben, Jade aims to bring high-quality LGBTQ content to a wider audience. She first started writing at the age of seven and is a journalism graduate. After a period working in property development, Jade completed her first novel One Four Three following the death of her father. Wicked Winters Films was founded after Jade penned twenty novels. One Four Three, which Jade also directed, was the company’s first feature and was preceded by six short films, which can be viewed on Vimeo.
“Dramatic and epic”
In One More Lie, Detective Ashley McCoy investigates a man’s sudden disappearance. Boundaries are blurred during the search as the man’s wife and Ashley are drawn closer together. Wicked Winters Films have launched the crowdfunding project to make One More Lie “as dramatic and epic as it deserves” to be. Although previous projects were self-funded, this marks the first time Wicked Winter Films have sought finance from outside. In One Four Three, a woman is attacked and left with amnesia after leaving her family to start a lesbian relationship. The company’s short films have included The Love Letter and Love on the Cards, which was selected for the Cannes Short Film Festival 2018. More about the event
The crowdfunding event will feature jazz, pop, soul and original songs from Ella alongside a live Q&A with Jade. The event will be streamed on Wicked Winters Films Facebook page and YouTube channel. Starting at 9pm, the event is scheduled to last for 90 minutes.
